Steele Land and Cattle

Steele Land and Livestock is a family run livestock and grain business in Southwest Iowa near Anita. We are located just south of Interstate 80 about halfway between Omaha and Des Moines.

Our enterprise consists of a father and son team, wives and family, and two full time employees. Roger (father) and Jo (mother) are the grandparents of our outfit. Jo works as a Home Health Care Aide. Doug (son) and Lynette have two children. Erin attends school, Sunday School, and is in 4-H and plays basketball as well as the flute. Tyler attends Sunday School and is in the first grade. He is learning to play the piano and feed cattle. Lynette teaches Fifth grade. Doug and Lynette are members of a Lutheran Church where Doug is retired from church council and enjoys helping when time allows. Doug is also an advisor for the Iowa Junior Beef Breeds Association. Lynette is soon to be the organizational leader of the 4-H club. Roger and Doug, with the support and counsel of Jo and Lynette, run the business.

Mike Plagman is our herdsman. Mike and his wife Kristi have a son, Eric and a daughter, Emily. Mike is involved in the everyday operations and is an integral part of our organization. Jason and Shawn are our full time employees are major contributors in the success of our operation. They keep the operation going when Doug and Mike are "never here" and are extremely important to us.
