Doug and his father,
Roger, have always been involved in the cattle industry with commercial
cattle. In the winter of 1989, our family purchased our first
Purebred Angus Females at the Loren Squires Dispersal. Doug and
Lynette went to AI school the following spring and had their first
experiences with AI the summer of 1990. Artificial insemination
has been used extensively in our herd. Performance records have
always been kept. Other females have been purchased, but the
majority of females are home raised over the past 10 years.

Early in our endeavors, we began marketing cattle at the
Iowa Beef Expo. One of our accomplishments was being the breeder
of Steele Hi Flyer, who was sold at the Expo. This bull went on to
be in the top 2% for weaning weight in the American Angus Association
Sire Summary. |
Sound, productive females have always been important to
us. In 1994, we purchased the bull TC Dividend 373. He has a
Dividend, Bando, Traveler pedigree. Our Dividend bull has produced
outstanding females with excellent udders.

We had the opportunity to be partners in a bull named
Turbo. He was a 6807 son out of the great RR Vantage cow.
Turbo was a full brother to Daquante. We have been extremely happy
with these females as they are moderate framed and very functional. |

Our
Senior Herd Sire is OGL Cold War. Cold War is a Battlecry son out of
a Saratoga daughter. This bull is owned in partnership with Jim and
Teela Sadowski from Osage Land and Grass in Missouri. Cold War is a
7 frame, thick bull with excellent bone and good feet and legs. Cold
War's progeny have been extremely exciting. Just like their father,
they are easy fleshing, functional, and have quiet dispositions.
Cold War does a lot of things right! He is something very special. |

Mufasa is our current Junior Herd Sire. His first
calves came in the spring of 2000. Mufasa is a Dateline son out of a
Fullback mother. His calves have been low birth weight and have
grown well. |
